Description

'Stairway to Heaven' has large green pinnate leaves with white and pink margins. As the gorgeous foliage emerges in spring, the foliage center yields a stem that rise above the plant with buds that open to a long, narrow pyramid of deep purple-blue flowers that are a favorite nectar source for native bees and butterflies. A North American native species.  Plant this easy to grow, long-lived perennial in masses at the front of gardens for a show that is impressive and colorful year after year.
